Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Angie Dobransky, Founder of RAD Strategic Partners, Inc., located in Silver Spring, MD, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

RAD Strategic Partners is a business and executive coaching company. We work with business owners and executives to build and grow businesses with a vision. Our customers don't have jobs; they have missions they are fulfilling, legacies they are creating, and dreams they realize with our help and partnership.

Tell us about yourself

When I first started my business, I wanted something that would make a difference in the world while using my skills and talents. Zig Ziglar's quote, "Success is the maximum utilization of one's gifts and talents," has always struck home for me, and I was searching for a business that matched. I found business coaching when I had no idea what it was and immediately knew it was my calling. I am in deep relationships with all of my clients and on my worst day, bringing myself fully present in a coaching session with a client cures all my ills. I am honored to partner with my clients and share the joy in their success.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have helped clients become millionaires, transition their companies to the next generation, and build businesses that allow amazing lives while creating jobs and opportunities. It's too hard to label any one of them as my biggest.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

A business owner must wear many hats, and not all of them fit well. Finding the balance between using one's talents and taking care of the many tasks and responsibilities that fall outside that Zone is hard.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Hire a lawyer and an accountant from the beginning. They are experts who will protect you.
  2. As soon as you can, hire a coach or advisor. It's hard to be a business owner, and an impartial partner you can be open and honest with makes an invaluable difference.
  3. Pay attention to the numbers and be sure you have the wear with all to last long enough to turn a profit.
