What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is a combination of the three main gifts I have mastered over the years under the umbrella of healing. Music, therapy, and healthy chocolates! Those who need to find and enjoy what I offer are drawn to what I do. Starting with friends, family, and then friends of friends, and then being recommended, referred, and discovered. Everything I offer connects in some way. I am grateful to offer healing therapies in so many different forms.
Tell us about yourself
I started cultivating my skills by offering them as 'businesses' when I realized that is the highest and best thing I can do for myself and for others - to provide all that I create has been a personal awakening. My first love - is music; I am blessed with a natural ability to hear and express myself through my voice, guitar playing, and cello playing. I sing, compose, direct and produce music, so it was an organic process to share through gigs and recordings. I have published recordings on all major music platforms under - Rachel Mari Kimber - join me on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and YouTube.
My second love - Chocolate. I was self-educated about nutrition and become renewed in health after illness through poor food choices. In that process had to cut out sugar and processed foods. To curb my chocolate addiction, I invented vibrant honey-sweetened chocolates and truffles made with clean, simple healthy ingredients which are organic, raw, and local when possible. I sing to the chocolate as I stir it in the bowl so it has sound vibration tones infused, along with whispered good intentions and delicious taste and flavor.
My third love - Healing Arts. I studied complementary therapies in my 20s and 30s. Then after going through a pivotal challenging shake-up in my 40s, I got into card reading and meditation, so my intuition kicked into overdrive which led me to hone all of my previous knowledge and skills, integrating them into what I now call 'Transformational Tarot' sessions. I feel very blessed to assist people on their life journey in such a powerful and supportive way. I also have a YouTube channel where I put free monthly card readings. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being received in a way I used to only dream about. Transforming lives through sound and showing people their own beauty and potential. Consistent hard work and dedication have enabled me to provide for my daughter and me.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having to do administrative paperwork type stuff or balancing work, rest, and play. (I can't choose just one!)
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find what makes you feel excited to get up and glow. Whatever that authentically is, is your business.
- Invest in yourself, and map out what that looks like.
- Seek support to assist the steps that will get you going and growing.
