Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachel Hardy, an intuitive mentor and coach, astrologer, and Akashic records practitioner based in Albuquerque, NM, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help conscious, spiritual entrepreneurs and creatives increase their clarity, impact, and income by regulating their nervous system and releasing stress and trauma that's trapped in the body.

Using somatic healing tools and practices, I help these purpose-driven leaders to release stuck stress responses in the body, so they can feel centered and connected and move forward in their business and creative work with greater clarity and flow.

I also work with Archetypal Astrology and the Akashic Records to support my clients in a deeper connection to their spiritual path and soul-purpose.

Tell us about yourself

I struggled with chronic health issues and clinical depression for much of my life. I've been on a journey of seeking out ALL the holistic health and mind-body healing practices, beginning when I was fourteen. When I discovered body-based trauma healing work in my forties, it changed everything... and I knew I had to do the work required to share it with the world.

What motivates me is seeing my clients move through the things that feel impossible to shift or heal and transform who they are in the process. When the trauma that's been holding you back has been healed, you become unstoppable.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Changing and re-birthing the form of my business when it was time to evolve. I was formerly a bodywork and massage therapist and had built a very successful private practice. But there came the point where my work wanted to expand in new directions... and even though I loved my clients and my work, I was being called to evolve in new ways that more deeply incorporated my spiritual work, along with going to new depths in releasing trapped trauma from the body.

Releasing my hands-on practice and changing the form of my work to coaching and virtual sessions meant rebuilding a lot of pieces of my business again from the ground up. It was a challenge, and there was also tremendous freedom in knowing that I was right on track with what I was meant to be doing and seeing the powerful results in my clients' lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Having too many ideas and needing to constantly reign myself in from trying to do everything at once!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find and express your unique gifts. The world's looking for solutions (and they won't be the solutions from yesterday). Trust what's unique about you, how you operate, and what's coming through you - even (and especially) if it's different.
  2. Find mentors, coaches, and guides who are successfully doing business in ways that reflect your deepest values, and absorb and learn from them.
  3. Then, follow your instincts, find your voice, and create your own way.
