Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in photography but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mark Piotrowski, Owner of Quarum Photo & Video Inc, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a professional 34-year-old photo and video company servicing luxury weddings worldwide. Our customers are amazing brides and grooms that are looking for a reputable and creative company to capture their special moments.
Tell us about yourself
I graduated from photography in 1995 from Humber college and was excited to start capturing those special moments. I love our clientele, as each one is unique and lovely to work with. Each client has a story to tell, and we love sharing this with our audience. We are blessed to have such high-frequency clients to work with on a daily basis.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Seeing smiles and laughter on a bride's special day and being there to capture these moments. Watching the company evolve.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hours we put in as photographs are outstanding. Most wedding days are from 7 am till 11 pm, and then back at it the next day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Prepare yourself for tons of work and dedication. Be available for your customers any time of the day. Be open-minded and learn from your mistakes.
