Tell us about yourself

My health journey started at the age of 22. Upon graduating college, I experienced digestive issues, depression/anxiety, brain fog, weight gain, and abdominal fat; you name it. Guess what? No doctor was smart enough to find out what was wrong with me. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I did some research and stumbled upon the awesome Wheat Belly book. Reading his blogs of his patients who shared similar symptoms helped me figure out that I had an intolerance to wheat. Sure enough, I removed the wheat I noticed that my symptoms were starting to improve.

All of my health issues cleared up within three years of proper diet and exercise. What motivates me is seeing others' health improve. My goal is to motivate, encourage and inspire those who were once in a space that I was in. 12 years later, I am now in perfect health, and I would like to show others how they can achieve optimal health. If I can do it, so can you.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My health journey started at the age of 22. Upon graduating college, I experienced digestive issues, depression/anxiety, brain fog, weight gain, and abdominal fat; you name it. Guess what? No doctor was smart enough to find out what was wrong with me. All my test results were normal, even though I felt like crap. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I did some research and stumbled upon the awesome Wheat Belly book. Reading the blogs of his patients who shared similar symptoms helped me figure out that I had an intolerance to wheat. Sure enough, I removed the wheat I noticed that my symptoms were starting to improve. All of my health issues cleared up within three years of proper diet and exercise. What motivates me is seeing others' health improve. My goal is to motivate, encourage and inspire those who were once in a space that I was in. There are individuals who simply do not know what's wrong with them and are looking for answers. Twelve years later, I am now in perfect health, and I would like to show others how they can achieve optimal health. During my studies in school, I found that all mammals are gluten intolerants due to their genetic modification. If I can do it, so can you.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest challenge is stressing the importance of lifestyle change. As a healthcare professional, I pour so much into my patients, and one day would like to receive that same motivation and encouragement. My job is not easy by any means. I love what I do because I love people.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have 6-months to 1 year's worth of savings and a long-term trajectory.
  2. Seek out financial support and create a healthy team.
  3. Have a mission and goal of actually helping people, not profiting off of money.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

What drives me every day is my six-year-old daughter. I birthed her naturally with no medication at Rush Copley Hospital. This is my biggest accomplishment to birth a healthy human being from scratch with no health issues. Wow! I know, right. Yes, it can be done. Never give up on your health goals or health challenges.
