What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a creative agency that specializes in podcast and content production, digital marketing, and live events. Our customers are trail-blazing businesses and entrepreneurs who are heavily invested in their digital presence and growth.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business at age 22 after graduating college. Upon graduation, I was hoping to join the US Department of State. At the time, they were on a hiring freeze which ultimately led me to start a business based on my passions vs. my academic interests, and Personalized Solutions, now known as PS Creative, was born.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Surviving 2020 is definitely my biggest accomplishment thus far. Prior to the shutdowns, we were flourishing and growing steadily with over 20 events across the country ready to go. We successfully completed three and lost a ton of business throughout the year. In 2021, I made the decision to work on expanding to Dallas, Texas, as well as adding a creative director to our team. Slowly we began to build the business back, refining it along the way, and now we have our dream office, amazing clientele across the country, and are doing really well. Grateful that I stayed the course vs. throwing in the towel after ten years.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There are so many hard things, but I'd say that trying to be focused on working ON the business vs. IN the business. I definitely do a mix of both but my daily goal is to delegate more and create stronger processes so I can continue to focus on our growth.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have contracts and NDAs in place. Do not underestimate how important this is. Client contracts as well as employee/contractor.
  2. Invest in accounting software and save yourself a lot of time and sanity.
  3. Project management and client management software are key. The sooner you implement that - the better your life will be.
