Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Matthew Loop, founder of Profit 365, LLC, located in Duluth, GA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm an author, investor, professional speaker, and social media profit strategist. Most of my customers are small business owners, industry influencers, and entrepreneurs.
Tell us about yourself
When I started out online, I didn't have a million-dollar business or the luxury of a big bankroll like most gurus you might already be familiar with. My parents weren't rich either. Before discovering the power of social media, I was struggling in private practice and juggling over $135,000 of loan debt. My credit cards were maxed out because of all the ineffective advertising gimmicks I tried. Eventually, through trial and error, I started to grow my practice.
In 2005, Myspace came along, and I learned how to use this social platform to connect and generate new clients. This was a game changer, and hardly anyone was tapping into it! Since it was so new, other friends and colleagues began asking me what I was doing, so I showed them. I got so busy teaching them that it was cutting into my practice time, so I had to make a decision. I figured out how to put my knowledge into a course and then began selling it online. Eventually, that Internet income eclipsed my normal business income. Shortly after, I made the call to start consulting and selling my online course full-time since I could have more flexibility and do it anywhere in the world. I began getting called to speak on prestigious stages, and the rest is history.
In terms of motivation, my family inspires me each day to be the best man I can be.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping clients to collectively generate over a billion dollars in sales from social media. I've developed a reliable blueprint, knowledge, and experience to connect anyone (or company) with a BIG vision to their desired outcome.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is letting go. You don't have to do everything yourself. In order to grow bigger and faster, you must stop being a control freak and learn the art of delegation.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do whatever it takes to get around other millionaire business owners and entrepreneurs who are already living your dream life. You will rise to the level of your environment.
- Done is always better than perfect.
- Start an online business and/or make sure your brick-and-mortar location has a virtual component. Internet shopping has dramatically risen since the pandemic, so put yourself in a position to capitalize and create additional streams of income.
