Tell us about yourself
From reorganizing my bedroom as a kid to color-coding my kids' closets, I always knew I was an organizer at heart. Launching NEAT Method was the most natural and perfect fit for my next career move. Not only do I love the actual daily hands-on organizing, but I also love connecting with our clients and supporting them through moving their space from chaos to composed.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm really proud of the team I've built. I love finding the right people, understanding their strengths, and setting them up for success on a project. Investing in people, passing on knowledge, and learning from them along the way is something I appreciate about running my own business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Letting go. You can't do it all; you HAVE to let others set up and help you along the way. Chances are you can do it better and faster, but you can't do it all, so finding people you can trust and train is the only way to grow!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do your research, make your plan, but don't stay in that phase forever. You have to jump at some point and just go for it.
- Make sure you take some time each week to work ON your business, not just IN the business.
- Fail fast. Even if you mess up, you can find creative solutions to make it right.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Done is better than perfect has always been my motto. Keep moving forward, even if you don't know if you're going the right way. It's easier to change directions once you're already moving. And when you're working on something you love, surrounded by people you trust, there are not many problems you can't solve.
