What's your business, and who are your customers?
Started with the goal of helping startups shape and share their story from the investors' perspective, Prepare 4 VC's story and mission have grown along the way as well. In addition to fundraising preparation and guidance, our model of serving as a Startup Oasis and space of refuge for founders globally has become the cornerstone of our mission. We help entrepreneurs learn, scale, and develop their pathways across all of the startup programs and resources at their disposal.
Tell us about yourself
My background is in the venture capital space, and I was amazed how many great startups fell through the cracks and didn't even get meetings with investors because their pitch was lacking or they didn't have the right connections. I set on a mission to change the numbers for the 98.5% of startups that never receive VC financing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I take the most pride in the accomplishments of our clients and cohorts, whether it is a new venture round, 3X sales growth, or securing major partnerships. Internally also taking pride in how our team was able to grow our Oasis community by 4X in 12 months without sacrificing the quality of founders looking to support other founders.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time management is key, balancing current with long-term goals and prioritizing what needs to be focused on at the moment and what can wait.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- There are no bad ideas. Make the leap and test early, and often make sure you are headed in the right direction.
- Listen to customer and market feedback and recognize expansion or pivot opportunities.
- Competitors on the surface can turn into great partners if your missions align, build better together.
