What's your business, and who are your customers?

Prep My Art is a virtual based platform for students in the Arts of Music, Theatre, Dance, Film Music, Photography, Fashion, Studio Art, Architecture, and Writing to upload their "Art" to be given feedback and strategies on what to improve before their exam, recital, competition, contest, portfolio review or audition. Critique is provided by three different adjudicators allowing clients to identify the continuity in comments based on the exact same submission and awakening the understanding of subjectivity in judgment within the Arts.

Tell us about yourself

Thank you for asking my "Why." Psalm 33:3, NKJV states, Sing unto Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.

My "Why" and motivation is to bring depth to skillfulness in the Arts. How much more potential does students and amateurs truly have bound up in them, just waiting to be released but don't feel they have support. How much better could students do when it counts the most at their big opportunities if only they knew what small or big things to fix ahead.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is hiring extremely high-level professionals in the Arts industry.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Speaking the word that our business exists.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your "Why."
  2. Read and listen to leadership books, character books, and motivational speaking.
  3. Look for every opportunity to shake someone's hand, network, and don't be afraid of growth.
