Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jordan Finkin, Partner at Pregamer Patch, located in Syracuse, NY, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our product is designed for those who want to grab a few cocktails to unwind without dreading the next morning. Pregamer Patch is a transdermal wellness patch that you apply before drinking. Pregamer replenishes vital nutrients that get depleted while drinking, which causes headaches, lethargy, and nausea the next morning. If this is you, you are a potential customer.
Tell us about yourself
I am a full-time dad, husband, and business owner. I first started this brand and worked to develop this solution because I couldn't enjoy a night out without waking up the next morning feeling like I had been run over by a truck. There had to be a better way, and after much R&D, Pregamer was born. My motivation comes from my family. Every day I push through to provide the best life for them. I also do this for our thousands of customers. Every day we get reviews, posts, and emails letting us know how much Pregamer has helped them feel refreshed in the morning. The repeat customers that we have is astonishing, and we are so grateful for all of them. There are not many better feelings than to have happy customers using something that you developed and created. It's pretty spectacular.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think my biggest accomplishment has been building a team of strong leaders and innovators that have put Pregamer on the map. This product wouldn't be anywhere without the team involved.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is the lack of a safety net that comes with owning a business. If we don't sell the product, the company doesn't survive. We have done an incredible job laying the foundation and building the infrastructure to succeed, however, if the sales don't continue, then we don't have a business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Expect your business to be like a marinade, not a microwave. It takes time, patience, and daily dedication.
- Build a strong team around you. It's very difficult to scale if you don't have a team working by your side.
- Look for a problem and solve it.
