Leadership Culture Team - Pragyan Advisory
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in leadership and organizational development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Vivek Tiwari, Co-Founder of Pragyan Advisory, located in Gurugram, Haryana, India.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a boutique Leadership, OD & Culture consulting firm that creates customized solutions for our clients by leveraging global research and frameworks and the power of co-creation. Our clients are varied, from large manufacturing corporations, big financial and technology organizations, e-commerce companies, to small and medium enterprises, across the globe; however, a significant portion of our client base is in India.
Tell us about yourself
I have worked in established organizations like American Express and Amazon, been part of a start-up team, and also been a management consultant with PwC. I have done sales, operations, and BD; however, at some point in my career, I discovered that I am at my best when I work in the space of people and organization, and all my past experiences of working in big corporates, in a start-up and in consulting in some way converged when my co-founder and I decided to start Pragyan Advisory and do something that we really enjoy doing and find meaningful. The ability to help individuals, teams, or organizations inch forward towards greatness (whatever it means to them)) is extremely inspiring and fulfilling for me and in this process, I also learn and evolve.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been to generate trust by delivering value to all our clients, and the testimony to that is that most of our clients have come back to us for the next piece of work or some other/bigger engagement.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
In our kind of business, it is the ability to scale up and yet provide the same value and experience to our clients. How can we balance an artistic approach with scale?
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Look for a larger time horizon to define success.
- Passion and inner motivation aligned to your business are the fuel to fight debacles/failures.
- Interact with people who inspire you and have different perspectives.
