What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a personal training facility that focuses on one on one and semi-private workouts. We utilize a system that focuses on the performance enhancement of the individual, which encompasses flexibility, balance and coordination, cardiovascular benefits, and more. We believe in a complete approach to fitness that covers training, nutrition, and health. We also launched our first fitness application called Powerbuilding, which allows our customers to utilize fitness technology to help them on their wellness journey outside of our facilities.
Tell us about yourself
I’ve been in the fitness industry for more than 20 years. I’ve been involved in multiple companies that focused on sports performance and group training primarily. I’ve also been an athlete involved in fitness for more than 30 years. And I continue in a competitive fitness manner through powerlifting. Which is help me maintain strength and fitness for the majority of my life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would have to say my biggest accomplishment thus far is that with my business partner, we were able to create a training facility that also extends out into the community via our fitness technology, the Powerbuilding app.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the most challenging aspects of a fitness business owner, I would say, is to have the ability to manage and delegate all the responsibilities that go along with operating a brick and mortar facility in addition to that building our technology side of the business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make sure you do your homework. Make sure you understand what type of business you’re trying to get into. Understand that you will spend more time in your business developing it and nurturing it more so than in any job you’ve ever had if you want to be successful. Don’t expect to rest on past successes because the world is constantly evolving, as are the businesses that are your competition. Hence, you had better be on your a game at all times to continue to strive and be successful, whatever that means to you.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
We hope what we’re doing here at Powerbuilding will revolutionize the fitness industry and the way things are done regarding fitness and tracking. We hope to educate as many people as possible on all the elements that are required in order to be a healthy individual.
