What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business provides weight loss/health ebooks and coaching via my wife and me. My customers are generally middle-aged people who want to lose weight and/or improve their health situation through dietary changes.

Tell us about yourself

After I reduced my cholesterol and blood pressure through dietary changes that I discovered through books and documentaries, I was excited to share my journey with others via social media, which turned into a business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Completing two ebooks and generating significant sales via the book launches via an email list I had developed over time.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Finding balance in your life to avoid burnout as you can spend 24/7 on your business, especially if you work at home.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create an email list that offers a free guide of some sort and start building it up from day one.
  2. Be patient and consistent in your social media posts, i.e., daily posts, videos, etc. (it takes time to develop a loyal following) but also don't spend all day just doing free social media posts and answering people's questions online for free.
  3. Hire people to do things you're not good at (e.g., design work, ebook layouts, etc.)
