What's your business, and who are your customers?

Posh Operations is a business that provides training for women who want to start their own virtual assistant businesses. Our customers are women from all walks of life who have a passion for organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills but may lack the resources and support they need to launch their own businesses. We offer a comprehensive training program that covers various aspects of business, such as marketing and branding, time management, and client relations, to equip women with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the virtual assistant industry. Our mission is to empower women to achieve financial independence on their own terms by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support to start and grow their own virtual assistant businesses.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Rae, and I am the founder of Posh Operations, a business that provides training for women who want to start their own virtual assistant businesses. I started working on this business while I was still working full-time at a university, as I wanted to help women who may lack the resources and support they need to launch their own businesses.

What motivates me each day to do what I do is the impact that I am able to make on the lives of women who want to achieve financial independence on their own terms. Seeing my clients succeed and grow their own businesses is incredibly rewarding, and it drives me to continue providing high-quality training, mentorship, and support to those who need it.

I am also motivated by the sense of community that we have built at Posh Operations. Our members come from all walks of life, but they share a common passion for helping others and building successful businesses. Being a part of this community and seeing the connections and relationships that are formed is truly inspiring, and it makes me excited to continue growing and expanding our business.

Overall, I am grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day and to help women achieve their dreams of financial independence. It is a privilege to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of others, and I am excited to see where this journey takes us next.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say that my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is seeing the impact that we have had on the lives of our clients. Many of our clients are stay-at-home moms who have been able to create financial independence and time freedom for themselves and their families through their virtual assistant businesses.

It is incredibly rewarding to see these women thrive and succeed in their businesses and to know that we played a role in their journey toward financial independence and a more fulfilling life. I am proud to have been able to provide them with the tools, resources, and support they needed to get started and to see their businesses grow and thrive.

Seeing the impact that we have had on our client's lives is what motivates me each day to continue doing what we do at Posh Operations. I am grateful to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of others and to help them achieve their dreams of financial independence and time freedom.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a business owner, one of the hardest things is wearing so many hats in the beginning stages of building a business. In the early days of starting a business, you may find yourself having to handle everything from marketing and sales to accounting and customer service. It can be overwhelming and challenging to juggle all of these responsibilities at once.

As the founder of Posh Operations, I experienced this firsthand. In the early days, I had to do everything myself, from creating the training program to marketing and promoting the business. It was a lot of work, and there were times when it felt like there weren't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

However, I learned that it was important to prioritize and focus on the tasks that were most important for the growth of the business. I also learned the importance of delegating and outsourcing tasks that were not my expertise, allowing me to focus on what I was good at. While wearing so many hats can be challenging, it is also a valuable learning experience for business owners. It teaches you the ins and outs of running a business and helps you develop a well-rounded skill set.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Set realistic goals and prioritize: As a stay-at-home mom, you may have limited time and resources to devote to your business. It's essential to set realistic goals and prioritize your tasks based on their importance and impact. Consider creating a schedule that includes dedicated work time and family time, so you can balance your responsibilities effectively.
  2. Leverage your network: Your network, including friends, family, and fellow moms, can be an excellent source of support and potential customers. Consider joining local mom groups, attending networking events, and connecting with other entrepreneurs in your field to expand your reach.
  3. Stay focused and adaptable: Starting and growing a business can be a challenging and sometimes unpredictable journey. It's essential to stay focused on your goals and be willing to adapt as needed. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, seek feedback from customers and mentors, and be willing to pivot your strategy if something isn't working. Remember, perseverance and flexibility are key to long-term success.
