Tell us all about your business...

Season2Season was founded at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic to provide best-in-class service matched with an unparalleled experience. Located in the heart of the Niagara Region, our team is an experienced group of professionals who are proud to offer the highest quality in customer care and satisfaction. Specializing in residential properties, short-term rentals, and everything pool-related, we take a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each client we partner with.

Serving the entire Niagara Region and Hamilton area, we aim to simplify the leasing, property management, and short-term rental while delivering convenient and affordable pool solutions. The accumulation of our hard work, sticking to our guiding principles and values, has strongly resonated with our clients, made evident by our recent nomination in St. Catharine’s Reader’s Choice Awards. As a small business in the heart of the Niagara Region, we look forward to serving our community positively in the coming years. We hope that you will continue to support us so that we can better serve you.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a business owner?

The team at Season2Season is a close-knit group of young professionals who met each other while pursuing their respective degrees' at Brock University. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, countless Canadians faced a significant labor displacement, and we were no exception.

Putting ourselves in the driver seat from the onset, we immediately began to capitalize on the opportunity to create a working culture that reflected our skills and values. Since then, we have found a strong pillar of support and encouragement within our community that gives us the daily motivation to deliver on our goal of providing best-in-class service continuously. We seek to simplify the leasing, property management, and Airbnb process while delivering convenient and affordable pool solutions from Season2Season.

As an entrepreneur, what does success ultimately mean to you?

Since our inception, the team has successfully serviced over 200 pools, ranging in size and scope, depending on the project's unique needs. This past summer, we noticed a market trend where consumer demand for above-ground pools experienced a massive uptake, resulting from more Canadians being forced to spend time at home.

We quickly identified this market gap and were able to service the demand throughout the region effectively. With this momentum, our aspirations for the near future are to expand into in-ground pool construction. Given we also tackle residential investment properties, we're proud to note that we've steadily grown month-over-month.

Further, our expansion into short-term rentals has paved new opportunities for our partners to grow their cash flow year-over-year through our proven process drastically. Yet, I firmly believe our most significant accomplishment has been our ability to wake up feeling fulfilled in what we are doing and working towards every day. There is no better feeling than that of self-empowerment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being an entrepreneur?

In the simplest terms, one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is all the hats you're forced to wear when you're first starting. Once you've figured out the basics, the next most significant thing is making sure that your daily actions are actively working towards your long-term goals and objectives. This requires an immense degree of self-discipline, as you're forced to reconcile with yourself each month honestly.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

  1. Don't be afraid to fail because failure builds resilience. If you can fail at something you hate, you might as well fail to pursue something you love
  2. Celebrate the wins; whether their big or small, they deserve to be celebrated.
  3. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals and strive never to be the most intelligent person in the room!
