Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in podcasting but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chris Curran, Founder and Lead Instructor of Podcast Engineering School, located in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run Podcast Engineering School teaching folks how to produce podcasts at the highest professional level so they can have a great career/business working from home and earning lots of money.
Tell us about yourself
I became an audio engineer and music producer in the early 90s, and in 2017 I opened my Podcast Engineering School to use my vast audio knowledge and experience to help others produce great-sounding podcast audio.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm more of a tech guy than a business owner, so I guess my main accomplishment is just staying in business for 6 years so far and still being genuinely jazzed seeing my students improve at such a great speed.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing for me is not running the business or being the teacher, or interacting with my students -- for me, "marketing" is equally mysterious and frustrating.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do something you love, put your heart into it, and do it well.
