Love Your Journey - PNW KYNE

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in clothing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Garrett Busch, co-founder of PNW KYNE, located in Spokane Valley, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Hello from Garrett and Joe! We are PNW KYNE, an apparel brand representing all kinds (KYNE) in the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 2017, our company began life under a different name, PNW Journey. This symbolized our path through the vast landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Our journeys have always joined us with like-minded individuals we affectionately called our "Kind." It's from this commonly used expression that we derived our beloved company name, you know as PNW KYNE. Our customers are "the Kyne community," supporting everything that is the Pacific Northwest.

Having a unique spirit, energy, and a flow that comes alive and thrives in the nature around us. This beautiful corner of America is shared by all walks of life, both humans and animals alike, perhaps even Bigfoot too!

Tell us about yourself

As brothers, we have always had respect for nature with a desire to protect and preserve the environment. This mentality melded into our brand. Our belief is that the best things will happen organically. With PNW KYNE, we have been able to deliver more of an impact than we could imagine through local programs and charities. We now see an infinite ability to enhance the Pacific Northwest Kyne. With that, each day brings new possibilities for our small business to do big things.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to give back while growing a business definitely means the most to us and is so rewarding. The support we've received from this beautiful region, the rest of the nation, Canada, & even Australia is what drives our eco-conscious dreams. This Kyne (kind) community has reached many people through charitable campaigns, as well as our friend and mascot Bigfoot. Our friend is very good at reaching out to our fans. Keep your eyes out for his next appearance!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are a lot of moving parts in a business, and you may want to take care of everything that you know how to do. Be careful not to let this take you away from the big picture. As long as you remember the reason you're doing it and keep the passion that's there when you begin, everything should come organically. Ups and downs happen, but if you shoot for the stars, you might land in the forest, where dreams come true. In a nutshell, do what you love, and your journey will be full of gains!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do what you are passionate about. (The outdoors)
  2. Create a community around that passion. (Kyne community)
  3. Follow the organic direction your business wants to go. (PNW KYNE)

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

As PNW KYNE continues to grow, our passions and our mission will always be the beating heart of our company culture. Together our aligned efforts & goals will continue to reach further, positively impacting more and more of our environment. Your purchase of PNW KYNE apparel means the world to all of us. That support enables us to contribute our time and make donations to causes which further our mission, directly benefiting our treasured Pacific Northwest and all who share it.
