What's your business, and who are your customers?
Plumlee & Associates is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). We are a national firm that is celebrating our 11th year of successful operation. Our industry expertise includes Supply Chain, Financial Services, and Public Accounting. Functionally, we place Senior Leaders and Managers in Operations, Accounting, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Human Resources. A great customer for us: a $100M to $750M organization that is looking to hire talented staff and leadership in the Continental United States.
Tell us about yourself
I started the business out of necessity. I lost my job two times in 12 months. Felt the call to blaze my own path! Each day, I am motivated to deliver for both clients and candidates. In short, we try to live out the Platinum Rule in all that we do. As a strong Christian, I want to live out my faith in such a way that everyone is blessed by our words, deeds, and actions.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
A story of faith, grit, and perseverance. Serving our great clients while raising a family and managing an Army career has been a wild ride. Our business has dealt with two Army Middle East deployments since 2013. I thank God all the time for good people, great customers, and HIS provisions!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
All success goes to your team. Any shortcomings start and stop with the owner. It is the highest of highs and can be the lowest of lows. Keep your emotions in check at all times.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be focused and consistent each and every day!
- Keep your family front and center...never forget that.
- Take care of your mind, body, and soul...without this 3 legged stool, you will crash and burn.
