Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in clothing and accessories but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jenny Livits, owner of Pink Lagoon, located in Solana Beach, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a wardrobe design and styling boutique in Solana Beach, CA that focuses on teaching women how to build their own personal style through a curated store of essential pieces.

Tell us about yourself

I have owned my business for 15 years now, so what motivates me now is different from when I started, but a lot of it is the same. I love to empower the women I serve through the art of personal style. That is what motivates me each day. I also love how style is such a reflection of who you are and how you show up in the world, and I really want it to be a tool in a woman's toolbox to feel confident and fully herself.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think my biggest accomplishment is that we are still in business after all these years and have really built a community around our boutique that is a reflection of more than just fashion. It's so much more about the people that are wearing the clothes.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think the hardest thing about being a business owner is finding that balance in your life because you do wear so many hats as the owner and founder. It's taken me 15 years to figure this out, and I'm still on this journey, but it's also so gratifying to see how much I've grown personally as a result of this challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The three tips I'd give anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today is #1. Is this your passion? I don't think I would still be here if I didn't absolutely LOVE what I was doing. #2 outsource and hire experts that can support you where you aren't as strong, or it isn't your wheelhouse #3 always make think space-time for yourself as an entrepreneur to grow and learn in the areas you need to and to allow yourself the time to recharge so you can stay in your creativity and focused on the bigger picture stuff

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I also offer a styling service and take women on an annual lifestyle retreat to learn more about all of that head to wdsbyjennylivits.com.
