What's your business, and who are your customers?

At PINK DOG DIGITAL, we provide effective digital solutions for your business. Whether it is a website, search engine optimization, content creation, social media management, digital advertising, or email marketing. Pink Dog has a custom-tailored strategy to meet your needs. We create an online experience that turns users into followers and followers into customers.

Tell us about yourself

I have been in this business for over 15 years and started Pink Dog Digital almost 5 years ago. I wanted to provide affordable and customized digital marketing solutions for small businesses. I am excited every day because we can see the ROI we are providing our clients, and they are thrilled to share their successes with us.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is quitting a very cushy full-time and high-paying job to start a small business on a competitive playing field. We started with zero clients and one developer and have progressed to 140 clients and a team of 14. I value my team more than anything for helping me achieve this dream.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I find that dealing with people is my most difficult task. I need to be all things to all people, and trying to motivate a 100% remote workforce from all different ages, backgrounds, and experiences can be challenging. How I speak with one team member is not how I speak with all team members. It constantly challenges me but makes me a better leader.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Go for it. You have nothing to lose.
  2. Have a "board of directors" to help you make the right decisions for your business. Whether it's an informal group, a peer advisory organization, or a mentor, have someone you can talk to and make the right decision.
  3. Have enough money in the bank. If things get slow, you want to have at least 3 months of overhead. Think about the pandemic and know that things can happen that are outside of our control.
