Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jim Feng, CEO of Phyxable, located in Markham, ON, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Phyxable is an end-to-end pain and prevention platform. We empower people in pain to quickly get diagnosed, self-care, and prevent their injuries from coming back, anywhere, anytime. With the help of telemedicine, augmented reality, and machine learning, Phyxable is reinventing how musculoskeletal pain should be managed.
Phyxable can complement primary healthcare providers as a post-op injury rehabilitation and prevention solution. It can be bundled by Insurance providers as a preferred provider for corporations, as well as by employers looking to offer a wellness solution to their teams. More recently, we've partnered with home care companies to offer virtual physio and mobility programs to seniors aging at home.
Tell us about yourself
After 15 years as a Chiropractor, I realized there was a need to offer injury management and prevention solutions at scale. Being limited to the geographical area of my clinic was not an option anymore, and I had to create a solution that could serve people in pain, regardless of where they were located.
Getting people out of pain has always been my mission in life, and I have imparted the same to Phyxable.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having successfully treated and helped recover tens of thousands of people suffering musculoskeletal injuries and pain has been our biggest accomplishment and continues to be our goal moving forward.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Influencing consumer behavior might be the hardest thing about being a business owner. When you lead a disruptive solution, there are a lot of initial barriers and traditional consumer behavior that you must overcome.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be as meticulous as possible when it comes to planning your objectives.
- Be persistent with your process. Success takes time.
- Pay attention to the numbers. You need to be aware of the metrics that move your ship forward and adjust processes accordingly.
