Quality Rehab for All - Physiotherabeat
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Beatrice Choong, Founder of Physiotherabeat, located in Singapore.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a rehabilitation and fitness business. We see all levels of physical fitness, from the disabled to the high-performing athlete in need of assistance with any form of injury or disability rehabilitation or for those looking to improve their physical performance in any form of activity.
Tell us about yourself
A lack of options available in the public and private sector that filled all my needs as a physiotherapist in my society, and the desire to continue giving back to my motherland, led me to go out of my comfort zone to create an ideal working environment that best suited my work ethic.
The challenge of learning more about the human body, breaking the boundaries of known research, and trying and testing clinical experience to gain greater ground in clinical excellence motivates me to meet every client who asks to be helped.
To me, there is no such thing as an 'incurable ailment' but a lack of understanding of the presented problem and the creativity to overcome it - all for the sake of providing a better quality of life to my clients.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We rely solely on social media marketing and word-of-mouth referrals, which we built gradually over the last three years, to the point where we no longer feel the need to employ other marketing methods to maintain our client base. To me, this means that we have been doing good, honest, and appreciable work with each and every person who comes to us for help.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
To keep persevering in the face of challenges that seem insurmountable. To keep the dream that might seem to be impossible to achieve.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know why you do what you do.
- Make sure the reason you're doing so is strong enough to survive any hardship.
- Surround yourself with good examples and wholesome people who share similar values.
