Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Duarte Froes, founder of PHUNK, located in Lisbon, Portugal.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
You have started working, or you have been working for a couple of years. You like to be in shape - you realize you don't have much time as you used to go to the gym, so you're careful with what you eat, drink, etc. You also like to go out, to socialize and to have a few drinks with your friends. Maybe even party hard and get drunk - however, drinking the beverages you normally do means you'll ingest a lot of calories and sugar, which will have an impact on your shape.
Meet PHUNK - where functionality meets fun - you can now have a guarantee that having fun and drinking alcohol does not mean you have to compromise the calories and sugar you intake.
Tell us about yourself
What got me started was the urge to offer this alternative alcoholic beverage and this new concept of low calories, no sugar drinking - there was an opportunity, and PHUNK took it.
What motivates me every day are PHUNK's customers, which are kind enough to share their thoughts and their compliments.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making a product that people love.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Managing everything - from salaries to supply chain, to marketing, to ingredients, to products, everything.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do some research and have a clear idea of what you want to build.
- Do it.
- Be very picky with your team.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Being an entrepreneur takes a lot of work, but it's also super rewarding.
