Transformational, Restorative & Revitalizing-Phoenix Health
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tanya Mackie, SRT practitioner and founder of Phoenix Health, located in St. Albert, AB, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Phoenix Health provides holistic healing with its multiple services and products. Its focus is to help create transformation and change in your life to remove what is blocking you from being where you want to be. It also helps give you the tools to become your own healer. Services include Spiritual Response Therapy (SRT), Access Bars with Light Language, Herbology, Aromatherapy, Flower Essences, and classes. The Incarnate product line are blends of essential oils and flower essences that help support you on your soul's journey, from helping heal your heart from heartbreak to letting go of grudges to bringing down anxiety and panic attacks. My ideal customers are people who are dedicated to their health and becoming better and healthier in all aspects of their lives, although I am also willing to work with those who are beginners and just learning how to take care of themselves. But all my clients have to do their part. There are no magic pills that instantly fix, although the shifts I create in people can often feel that way. It is then their responsibility to maintain it afterward, and we work in partnership to get you to the life you want to be living.
Tell us about yourself
I have been a holistic healer for over 20 years. I am first and foremost a spiritual healer and love to help people align with their true selves and with God and Spirit. I have spent my life searching and healing. I am not searching anymore. I feel connected every day and truly enjoy and appreciate my life. I love helping people find themselves again, connect with what they really want to be doing, and then help them remove the blocks to achieving their dreams.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Personally, I think my biggest accomplishment is my website. I am not tech-savvy, but I managed to create my website all by myself, and I am pretty proud of that, even though it was a pretty steep learning curve. Professionally, the biggest shift I witnessed was when I had this 16-year-old girl who came to me about a physical problem. During the SRT session, she confessed to cutting and having suicidal thoughts. We did a clearing around that, and afterward, she said with awe, "It's gone. It's really gone." That was over four years ago, and she hasn't cut or been suicidal since. However, I don't take credit for that. Her soul was ready to let that go, and she was brave enough to share. I just facilitated what she was ready to heal.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The biggest challenge I have is building a big enough clientele. SRT and Access Bars clear so much baggage and blocks in one session that most of my clients see me every 6 months to a year or some never again, but I do keep getting referrals from them.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips for growing a business are:
- Have a mission statement for your business and never lose track of that. The real why you want to create your business is that be on a vision board or an intention you set at the beginning of every day before you go forth.
- Focus on connecting with people and not on the money and what you can get from them. In the beginning, it's hard as money is tight. But that desperate greed and need is off-putting to most clients.
- Trust. Trust that what you are doing is what you are meant to be doing. If something isn't working, go back, re-evaluate, ask others for input, and then either tweak your strategy or come up with a new plan. Hope that helps, and best of luck to you with your business. Never give up, never surrender!
