What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a vegan company that strives to provide the best vegan experience possible. We currently have vegan fried chicken wings and numerous flavored buffalo and bbq sauces. Our customers truly range, and that is our goal. We want to cater to vegans and non-vegans. Each of our sauces is also vegan, and many non-vegans love them and didn't even realize most bbq sauces aren't vegan. For us, it really is about providing an experience that you always remember.
Tell us about yourself
Back in 2019, my husband took me on a date to a local vegan restaurant. I, of course, wanted to try the wings because I was always first in line at Buffalo Wild Wings for Wing Wednesday. So, it had been some time since I had any type of "wing." The wings from the restaurant were awful. No crunch tasted like a sponge, and the sauce was straight from a bottle. Remembering the sponginess of those wings is what motivates me. It took us almost two years to get this recipe right. I made sure there was a nice meaty texture along with valuable nutrients that vegans needed, i.e., protein and B12.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is just doing it. Many people have these amazing ideas and products, but they do nothing with them out of fear. I am just happy I got over my fear and did it.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think everyone is different when it comes to being a business owner. We all have our own backgrounds and personal things we deal with. So, for me, the toughest thing can be just showing up.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Number one...JUST DO IT!! Stop being afraid and do it. Number two, stay away from social media when it comes to scrolling. Utilize it for marketing, but don't let other companies doing similar things stop you. Third, never ever rely on people you know. There are over 7 billion people in the world, and if you let a few unsupportive friends or family members stop you, then you never have a chance.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
The biggest thing I was people to know is that being a business owner is not easy, and it isn't hard. It is whatever you make it. This goes for being a vegan as well. It doesn't have to be hard; it can be as easy as you make it. I just hope we have made it a bit easier for people to make that switch.
