What's your business, and who are your customers?

Personality Hacker teaches you the coding language of your mind and how to use it to create great relationships, a fulfilling career, and happiness.
We guide people to the questions:
— Are you born with your personality, or does it develop over time?
— What is intuition?
— What's the fastest way to use your natural gifts to improve overall happiness?

We are passionate about helping people discover themselves, which leads to discovering their passion - purpose - and mission in life.

Tell us about yourself

My journey begins with awakening to my own intuition. At the age of 32, I realized I was living a life that wasn't mine. In the midst of a failing marriage at a dead-end job, I decided to reinvent myself massively. As I pursued personal growth, I discovered that most self-help advice was written from a "one-size-fits-all" perspective. I would try and try but not see the results I wanted. It was only after combining personal growth with a deep understanding of my unique personality that things started to shift in my life. My wife and I set about building a personal growth company that teaches using the framework of personality types. We ultimately help people make better decisions based on how their mind works.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It's not a very sexy answer - but having my weaknesses and flaws exposed under daily business pressures has been both challenging for my ego and rewarding for my personal growth. I've had to scale past my idealisms - especially my idealisms about who I am and what I am here to do as a business owner. And the funny thing is, the more I release and let go - the more impact I can make. It's counter-intuitive but has played out in my life in a big way.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a leader, I have to consider the needs of my team and company as well as my own needs. Finding the right balance between these can be challenging, but it's important to make sure that I am taking care of myself while also supporting the needs of the team. Maintaining focus on details is important for any leader, but it can be a challenge not to lose sight of the big picture. It's important to set myself aside and show up consistently for my team so that I can be a reliable and supportive leader. Balancing the need to lead and guide with the desire to give team members autonomy is a delicate task. On the one hand, it's important for me to provide direction and set expectations for my team. On the other hand, I also want to foster independence and allow team members to take ownership of their work. Striving to strike the right balance is key to building a strong and collaborative team.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

When starting a business, it's important to have a clear understanding of the value you offer and how you can solve your customers' problems. Here are three tips to get started:

  1. Know what value you offer: To be successful is crucial to understand what business you are in and what puts you in flow. Ask yourself: What is unique about my product or service? How does it solve a specific problem for my customers? Answering these questions will help you identify your unique value proposition and communicate it effectively to your target market.
  2. Understand your customers' personality type: To truly understand your customers and the way their challenges show up, it's important to understand their unique personalities. By identifying a person's personality type, you can get a deeper understanding of their motivations, communication style, and how they perceive and react to the world around them. This is why I focus on the unique personalities of our clients when trying to understand their problems and challenges. By understanding the personality type of your client, you can create tailored solutions that speak to their specific needs and help them overcome their challenges in a more effective way.
  3. Connect your value to solving the challenges for your clients in a real way: Once you understand your customer's problems and your unique value, it's time to connect the two. Ask yourself: What are the practical and tangible steps my client should take for real solutions? What does success look like for my client? It's important to not only provide solutions but also define the success of your clients in a mental and emotional way.
You can create a business that is not only profitable but also helps solve real problems for your customers. Remember, the key to success is understanding your customers' needs and connecting your value to solving their challenges.
