What's your business, and who are your customers?

We make frozen gluten-free, vegan food. We sell that to Sysco, GFS & Pratts from there. It’s delivered to various restaurants, areas, hospitals, and offices.

Tell us about yourself

I found out I had a celiac disease in 2010. I was not overly impressed with how it tasted and, moreover, what was in the food. We thought we could do it better- or at least make our food more real: filled with real ingredients instead of additives. My motivation comes from feeding people better food. We love hearing from people how our food makes them feel.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Staying open. Being an entrepreneur is comically hard. Everything is set up to make you fail. It’s always a David and Goliath scenario.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Same answer as above. Staying open and trying to stay afloat is challenging day in and day out.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have three times the money you think you’d need.
  2. Try to love what you’re selling as it becomes your life.
  3. Realize that there might not be a great deal of money coming in, but you get to be in charge of your time. That’s a nice gift to have.
