Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rene Reynoso, COO of Peluso Cheese, located in Los Banos, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a manufacturer of cheese, cream, and different grocery items. Our customers are food service, grocery chains, restaurants, deli's, and business-to-consumer products.

Tell us about yourself

I come from a line of family members who have always manufactured cheese and food products; good quality, great-tasting cheese production is my passion.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Learn to be patient and understanding around all of our workforce.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I learned from someone very intelligent to handle any problem that might arise right away so they do not escalate; being able to tackle issues right away allows us to be more focused on the operations of the business. Putting up with non-skill labor and being extremely patient with other people around me because I am very driven.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Owning and running a business is not for everybody.
  2. Learn to manage other people's $ before starting a business.
  3. Find a passion for a business before you even get involved in starting a business.
