Interested in starting your own journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Paul Danan, Founder of MAD (Morning After Drama), located in London, United Kingdom.

What's your organization, and who are your members?

Morning After Drama Theatre Company is about teaching and giving people in the community who suffer from Mental health problems and addiction issues a place to come and connect with like-minded people and learn acting and be part of a theatre company.

Tell us about yourself

I started this idea when I worked with the Amy Winehouse Foundation speaking to kids in schools about the dangers of addiction and how we don't have to go down that Road. Then I realised the best way was to get them up role-playing real-life situations they may find themselves in and to be able to act out different outcomes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as an organization?

Being awarded £10k from the National Lottery.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being an organization?

Not knowing whether we are going to be able to keep up giving classes to the communities around the UK without funding, as all my classes are free. So paying bills and wages is tough.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow an organization today?

  1. NEVER GIVE UP!
  2. Always believe in yourself and your ideas and share them with others who understand business.
  3. Get a good accountant.
