Become a Sought-After Leader - Parikh Ventures

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Pathik Parikh, Founder of Parikh Ventures LLC., located in East Brunswick, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help turn first-time managers into lifelong leaders.

Tell us about yourself

I have a nearly decade-long career in Operations Management with companies like Amazon, XPO Logistics, Iron Mountain, and startups. I still say I got lucky and was a campus hire for Amazon as an Area Manager. One thing that always stood out to me was the severe lack of support, training, and coaching for first-time managers. They're always left to sink or swim, putting out fires in chaos, or backed up against a wall. Their own managers couldn't or wouldn't make time for them. Finding a mentor isn't as easy as every career guru makes it out to be. With each company I transitioned to, this issue remained the same. I decided to take my experience and use it to help first-time managers find their footing and be able to have successful leadership careers. I want to be their go-to resource, like a mentor. I know. I wish I had one when I started out.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Right now, I would say my biggest accomplishment is just building a network with other solopreneurs. I'm still early on in my business, and having that group of solopreneurs to lean on for support is absolutely amazing.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is that there's no book to give you the answers. A lot of it is trial and error and learning on your own.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You have to be willing to embrace failure. If you tried something and it didn't work - use that to learn and get feedback on what to change.
  2. Never stop making customer discovery - they will always give you the answer to what your ideal customer want. Use their wording to create the language on your website and marketing.
  3. Build a network or community that you own - like a newsletter. This way, if a platform goes down, you still have your voice.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Give more than you take, and make sure you create valuable content to attract clients/customers.
