Fresh Local Food for Busy People - Pantry Fuel

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jennifer Stuchell, founder and CEO of Pantry Fuel LLC., located in Spokane, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Pantry Fuel is the Inland Northwest's dietitian-approved ready-to-eat whole food meal delivery. We advocate supporting local farms and other small businesses in our community. Our mission is to support our community's health one meal at a time.

Tell us about yourself

I started Pantry Fuel two years outside of graduating from Gonzaga University (Go Zags!) in 2015. Pantry Fuel was begun from a heartfelt mission after my tutu (grandma in Hawaii) passed away from Pancreatic Cancer after her first diagnosis five months later. We didn't have a healthy and convenient meal delivery service in Spokane, Washington.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment comes from our first testimonial from a mom who told us our meals saved her life after having her first baby. Testimonials like these, along with others, sharing that we get the opportunity to serve them through healing from surgeries or simply telling us they use Pantry Fuel to avoid crappy takeout - this makes us feel accomplished and honored to be doing this work for our community.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Always hiring people you can trust.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know the ins and outs of your entire business.
  2. Advocate for your people - your staff, customers, and community.
  3. Build a community. It's better to have 100 people who love you than 1000 people who like you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Pantry Fuel serves the best community, and we're honored to be creating a healthier world through our dietitian healthy whole food meals. Each season we put incredible time and energy into thinking about each new meal ingredient and how it will support your health and the environment.
