Tell us about yourself
I've always known I wanted to be an entrepreneur, ever since I read the book Start Something That Matters by Blake Mycoskie. The creator of the brand Toms Shoes. As I started to grow my career, I naturally gravitated toward working for small businesses, knowing I'd get to learn much more than just my job title. Working in a small business, you wear many hats. This was the experience I wanted. I ended up landing a more corporate position in marketing and management. It quickly showed me that there is always a limit to my growth when I'm working under someone else. I started to freelance while working full-time and then slowly gained the confidence to start my digital marketing business as a VA. Now, In 3 years' time, I've transitioned to online business management. I am motivated by the impact my clients are making with their offers, the reward of supporting the impact and being honest, and the ability to live life on my own terms. I'm not perfect, but I'm motivated to get better at navigating my own path without feeling like an imposter.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is cultivating lasting client relationships; some of the clients that are started out with are still with me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Figuring out finances in the beginning. As well as working with not the ideal fit clients and learning to address red flags in the beginning.
