What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a small, women and AAPI-owned small business based out of Southern California. We offer affordable luxury loungewear, bridal apparel, and accessories for all occasions. When we started, we were only an idea that sprouted from the mind of a busy bride-to-be planning for her wedding. Founded in 2017, we have grown exponentially over the past five years. We cater to brides and their wedding parties, providing beautiful and affordable luxury pajamas, robes, fluffy slippers, scrunchies, eye masks, and more!

Tell us about yourself

The inspiration and idea for Belle's Design Shop sprouted while planning my wedding. As a bright-eyed bride-to-be, I noticed a profound need for affordable yet stylish and luxurious products that I could provide my bridal party and wedding guests. Many companies marketed their goods at high prices for poorly made products. Having studied fashion design and business administration, I took my knowledge and skills and decided to offer products that were high quality with affordable pricing. The beginning of Belle's Design Shop soon came to fruition, and I opened my Etsy shop in 2017.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

While my business began as a place for brides and their parties, it has grown and evolved into a place for all kinds of people and special events. I have had the immense pleasure of providing our beautiful pajamas, robes, and accessories to pajamas parties, birthdays, special events, and more! The most significant honor I have had is working with brilliant models and influencers like professional dancer Melanie Wilking, American's Next Top Model Winner India Gants, L'Oreal Paris, and more. My Etsy has grown exponentially, and our sales have been in the six figures!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There are always struggles in the business world, and things are constantly changing. Having the ability to adapt and grow through changes is the best skill any business owner can have.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Always push forward, regardless of the negativity.
2. Surround yourself with supportive and intense people.
3. Never give up!
