What's your business, and who are your customers?
Palgrave Consulting is a global business growth consultancy supporting the founders and leaders of start-ups, scale-ups, and small- and medium-sized businesses. Our goal is straightforward: to help serious business owners get more clients, close more sales and generate greater profitability while at the same time running a business both efficiently and without overwhelm.

Tell us about yourself
Over 25+ years working in a range of businesses and sectors globally, from multinationals like UBS, Nomura & GE Capital to start-ups & SMEs. After many years within these bigger organisations, I realised that I wasn't making the impact that I craved. I became sick of the corporate games and the work-life imbalance. I felt tired and drained, and even in the smaller firms, the need to continually firefight was exhausting.
In late 2018, I made the decision that it was time to take back control and work on my own terms. Scale-ups and small/medium businesses are so important to the economy, yet they receive so little quality advice and support. It was time to step up and change that! That's why Palgrave Consulting was set up.
For over 10 years, I've run a growing food business with my wife and have worked with many entrepreneurs helping them grow their businesses. I've run a Fintech start-up for over 6 years and know all about the roller coaster that a business owner is on from week to week. At times, it was emotionally draining and distracting me from my strategic goals until I worked out how to control them.
I focus on the bigger picture – to visualise, propose and implement realistic solutions that add income to your business without spending anything more on marketing. What makes me different: I believe that business is not as complex as you might think, and you deserve quality advice. I don't teach theory and believe in action-takers. My clients tell me that "I'm highly approachable, trustworthy, and work with true integrity."
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm proud of the fact that I've worked with some incredible business owners and made them believe in themselves and work towards achieving those goals. Having a client call me and say they've secured a new contract or signed a big deal is great, but actually seeing them take action and move forward is an even bigger achievement in my eyes.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As business owners, we are often guilty of trying to do everything ourselves. The reality is that we all need to learn to delegate or outsource where and when possible.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find the thing that lights you up the most, and don't forget the reason why you decided to start your business in the first place.
- Take care of yourself. Starting and running a business can be demanding. It's important to take care of yourself physically and mentally.
