What's your business, and who are your customers?
Pairings Events is a catering company that specializes in parties of 10-50 people. We work with our clients to develop a menu specific to each want and desire. We love working with customers that enjoy food, wine, and the dining experience.
Tell us about yourself
My wife, Kristin, and I started Pairings Events during the beginning of the pandemic. The public was missing their friends and loved ones during that time, so we started catering in people's homes to give them the restaurant experience in their space. It has been so amazing and motivating to be able to see the impression we leave with our clients after we transform their homes while being able to cater to their specific needs.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It has been such a great accomplishment to continue to grow in popularity in the community while having clients, new and old, use us for their special occasions.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It is very hard to have a work/life balance. We give Pairings Events our "all," but we also have a family to make sure we are there for them.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a purpose/need for your product.
- Make sure you know how to properly promote (i.e., social media, Google, website, etc.)
- Find as many qualified staff as possible and pay them well to keep them!
