The Social Media Survival Guide - Paige Media Company
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lex Paige, Owner of Paige Media Company, located in Charleston, SC, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run a social media management business helping small business owners simplify their presence on social media! I work with entrepreneurs who are passionate about their products and determined to change the world.
Tell us about yourself
I started working on a friend's business account for fun back in 2017! Honestly, what has kept me in it for so long is how quickly it all changes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Recently launching The Social Media Survival Guide series! An interactive platform where business owners can take self-paced guides, use templates, and follow simple strategies to make their own social media as simple as possible!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Having to wear a lot of different hats! One minute you're handling a problem in accounting, the next, you're putting a fire out on one client's account. So just having to be in a lot of different places at the same time, but I would be bored with anything that was less chaotic.🤣
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You don't need permission to start a business. Don't let the fear of judgment from someone like your friends or family, or even strangers, stop you from pursuing your dreams. (This is what I wish someone would have told me, haha!)
- Never stop learning, and always start a conversation. Some of the craziest opportunities I've ever had have all come from being open to learning from someone and from just participating in simple conversations. You never know who you're meant to cross paths with, so never think you know everything because there is ALWAYS something to learn.
- Done is better than perfect. And a lot of choices you have to make when it comes to your business aren't permanent or set in stone. You can (almost) always go back and try again. Don't spend too much time picking apart what you're doing, or you'll never be happy enough to just post it!
