I am a photographer, and my customers are some of the coolest people on earth.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Rico, and I'm from Miami, Florida. My interest in photography was sparked back in 2017. I was influenced by two dope Miami photographers that I follow on Instagram, which are Theo (@theovision1) and Scoe (@biscoelar). I just thought all their photos were dope. So that led me to impulsively purchase my first camera. The main thing that motivates me each day to keep going is the process. The process of turning a simple idea that started in your head into a reality right before your eyes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment so far is the growth of my network. I have met so many dope individuals and have done business with them, and I have been blessed with some dope opportunities.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a new business owner is early on; you are everything to your business; it can get a little rough doing everything yourself before you start to build your team. And it's even harder to find reliable people to work with.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The first tip is patience, which will play a major role in your journey. You won't make it very far if you don't have patience. The second tip is to continuously invest in and nurture your business, don't make a few dollars and go spend it on a liability. And the third tip is to be true to yourself, especially in the creative field. Always remember, "it's a thin line between inspo and copying" never confuse the two.
