What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself
I’m a Midwest native who ended up planting my roots in Colorado. I guess you could say my adventure began in 2009 when my now husband and I packed our whole lives into a tiny pull behind U-Haul and moved west. This was also around the time when medicinal cannabis was becoming legal. Over the years, I’ve become a big proponent of “holistic health,” cannabis being a big part of that. After moving to Colorado, we quickly had the opportunity to learn how to cultivate a “grow” to provide to local dispensaries. But, not long after, the laws started changing, and we were starting a family of our own. We stepped away for a few years, though still huge advocates and proponents of the PLANT!
Years later, in 2017, it all came full circle, only this time with HEMP. The more I became exposed to CBD, the more intrigued I became, the more I wanted to learn, and the more empowered I felt to talk about this miraculous cannabis plant. Because CBD provides similar benefits as THC, but without the “high,” I knew it was going to be a game-changer for so many, including myself. Family members and friends immediately came to mind as well, and so I knew I had to get involved. I also knew I needed a legit brand of CBD to recommend when sharing this alternative solution with others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Since the launch of my business four years ago, I have personally helped thousands of people and pets globally discover cannabis and take back their life. Together, with my passionate team of advocates, we continue to make an even bigger impact! PURPOSE, FULFILLMENT, and FREEDOM have always been what I desire in my career and life. Through this mission, I am experiencing all three. I find purpose in what I do, which keeps me motivated to grow my business daily. I find fulfillment in enhancing the lives of others, whether that be through better health, a more open and positive outlook on life, or inspiring others to fight for their dreams and desires. I have complete freedom to live life on my terms because I have built this business around my life. Because I believed in the plant, believed in myself, and took the bold moves, my business is over halfway to becoming a million-dollar brand! It has since allowed me the freedom and flexibility to move about the country, with my husband, two amazing kiddos, and a pup, living the “RV life.” This past year has truly been the experience of a lifetime! It doesn’t get much better than being a voice for the plant and knowing you are impacting lives everywhere, all while living life to the fullest and co-creating our future.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Of course, there will always be bumps and challenges along the journey, but those are necessary for anyone wanting massive success. Look for the lessons along the way. Be willing to grow and evolve. Surround yourself with those who are going to support this growth and bring out your inner power. We are capable of so much more than we know.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just START. If you can dream it, you can achieve it! You don’t need to have everything completely figured out. Put yourself out there, let your excitement and passion carry you and be willing to learn and grow along the way. No risk goes without reward, and you are worthy of all your dreams and desires…so go for it! My hope is that you, too, will find purpose, fulfillment, and FREEDOM.
- Your net worth is determined by your network. Where can you go to gain exposure and gain new clientele? How can you add value within your community or industry? What are you doing to build lasting relationships? Strive to build rapport and credibility, repeat and referrals, the “like, know and trust.” Become the expert in your category. Stay top-of-mind. Show an interest in others. Run your business with integrity, authenticity, and intentionality.
- Enjoy the journey! When building a business that you are extremely passionate about, it’s often easy to neglect everything and everyone around you. It’s often easy to get caught up in timelines and expectations. This is the easy route to self-sabotage. When we try to control or predict too much, living in that “hustle” mentality can steal us away from our joy. Don’t lose sight of your dreams and desires that led you to start your business in the first place. When you build your own business, there are no rules. YOU GET TO DECIDE. Make it good.
