Your Path Transform Your World - One Path Coaching

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jason Jurado, Founder of One Path Coaching, located in Winters, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Life Coaching and Performance Coaching. My clients are people who realize they are not living the life they most desire. They may not have an idea of the life they do want to live and need help in finding out what their goals are and support in defining a path on how to get there. I also see clients that know what they want to achieve, but they either don't have a clear path or they have difficulties in accomplishing their goals. I help all clients clear out negative emotions and limiting beliefs from their past that may be blocking them in their current life.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been a healer. It has been part of who I am from my earliest memories. Throughout my life, this was something that was part of my everyday life and not something I considered to be my career path. As I worked in retail leadership, I was in a position to support people on their journey of growth and to help them with any support they may have needed to maintain positive mental health. As the years went on, I realized this was something I should be doing full-time, and to be able to reach the most people; I would need to go out on my own and start my own business. I wanted to make sure I was fully qualified to support people. I was certified as a practitioner of Neuro Linguistics (NLP), Hypnosis, and Time Line Therapy in 2010. I still didn't go out on my own at that time and was mostly using my training within my career. In 2015 I was certified as a Master Practitioner of NLP, Hypnosis, and Time Line Therapy and started seeing clients part-time. In 2020 my wife and I came up with a plan on how I could go full-time with my business. We came up with a business plan, I got a business coach, and then in 2021, I went full-time with my business. I am motivated every day with the knowledge that I help others live the life they desire.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment truly comes with every person I help to realize their fullest potential and achieve their goals. Helping people with their positive mental health is the reason I started my company, and it drives me daily. I have personal accomplishments within my business that I am proud of that help me with that mission. I have participated in over six podcasts this year. I have been on several video programs with other organizations, and at the end of October, I am part of an international Masters Summit for NLP.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The reality is that you have to work in the business and in the business. People start a business because they want to support people with their products or services, but they have to realize you are in business. We spend a lot of our time seeing clients or selling, but you have to also focus on the growth and development of your business. You have to pay the bills and set aside taxes and make sure you have the supplies you need, Keep up with your certifications, etc.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start with a specific detailed plan of your business, including having a 3-5 year vision, and make sure you have a financial plan to cover expenses for the first year you are open. i.e., savings set aside to make sure you can focus on building the business and not have to be overly concerned with income from external sources during that important building time.
  2. Keep a curious and flexible mindset while you are running your business. Being aware that as you get into the day-to-day of running your business that your initial plan may not have covered everything that you will encounter. You will also learn ways to improve your systems and strategies as you grow as well.
  3. Be aware of looking for new opportunities within your business that are other avenues of growth and income. Imagine your ideal customer, and if they were to ask you what else you do or offer that needs a product or service, you could also offer them to keep them as customers and grow your revenue streams.
