Viral Product Pitch - Nwasokwa Consulting

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nkiruka Nwasokwa, Founder of Nwasokwa Consulting, located in Somerset, NJ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a Revenue Growth Specialist for founders with transformational products (or services) that are difficult to explain and sell. If you have a transformational solution but you're struggling to close deals or win clients, I help you create a viral product pitch that closes customers before they even know what your product does.

I love what I do. One of my clients, a health tech startup, started sharing their viral product pitch with potential customers and got a 60% conversion rate in a crowded space before their technology was even built.

Tell us about yourself

I had been working in the innovation space for a while and had created a framework specifically for explaining transformational products and services. Soon afterward, I met a consultant who was struggling to get clients because he struggled to explain his service. His service was extremely complex but also kind of miraculous: he had an incredible method for helping large companies slash millions of dollars off their yearly IT spending.

But the problem was that he got too deep in the weeds when he tried to explain it to people, and nobody understood what he did. He was averaging only one lead per quarter. After struggling for 2-3 years, he was on the verge of giving up on his business. When we met, I had just created my messaging framework and believed it could help him. So we joined forces, and together, we found his viral product pitch. With this pitch, he immediately jumped from 1 lead per quarter to 15 leads per quarter in a matter of weeks. For a 5-figure service. And he landed a sales opportunity with a $1B tech company without ever talking to anyone from the company, purely through word of mouth.

Creating this kind of impact for incredible innovators and service providers is why I love what I do. I love to see people win. Especially when they don't know just how close they are to their breakthrough.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I was sitting at my desk on a Zoom call with a former client. I had asked if he would be willing to do a testimonial video for me that I could use to share with new prospects. After sharing how my work exploded his sales and saved his business, he simply said to me: "I would crawl through glass to help you."

Knowing that I helped someone this much is one of my biggest and proudest accomplishments. My goal is for every client I work with to feel the same way.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Knowing when to let go of something that's working "ok" in order to find something that works 10x better. For example, working until 2 or 3 am every night used to seem like productivity to me... until I discovered that getting 8 hours of sleep and waking up refreshed and strong had 2nd and 3rd order effects I could not have imagined.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Solve a painful customer problem.
Find a customer you truly care about and solve a painful problem for them. Not all problems are equally painful. Find the *highest value* problem you can solve for your customer. And charge well for it.
  2. Read the "Power of Full Engagement."
It will change the way you look at time, success, and the meaning of your life overall. You may think you know what success means to you, but you might be mistaken.
  3. Speak kindly to yourself.
The way you talk to yourself becomes your habit of thought. Your habit of thought becomes your habit of action. Your habit of action becomes your result. In business and in life. Be kind and supportive to yourself within your own mind - especially when things are tough - and you'll have a habit of operating with power and insight. You'll filter for possibilities instead of limitations. And when you do this, your actions and decisions will be exponential: you'll take small steps yet experience big leaps. And that makes you unstoppable.
