What's your business, and who are your customers?

At Nutty Novelties, we strive to make your food more exciting, unique, fresh, and healthy, one nut butter at a time. We make over 20 different varieties of gourmet nut butters which are perfect right off of a spoon, in a quick and healthy snack, or in endless crafty recipes! From exciting Habanero Honey Peanut Butter to decadent Dark Chocolate Almond Butter to uber healthy and unique Pistachio Butter, we have a nut butter for everyone!

Tell us about yourself

What motivated me to get started in this business, and what continues to motivate me to this day, is simple curiosity. From the beginning, I wondered, can I really create a product that will inspire and excite people? That is what got me started, and that is what gets me up every day!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to provide for my family with this business. My whole life centers around my family, so the fact that I am able to provide for them by doing what I love is such a blessing.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner, I think, might be loneliness. Many of my small business-owning friends have expressed similar feelings. While you can find common ground with other business owners, it is only you who really knows what is going on in your specific business and in your personal life. While there are tons of accountants, secretaries, and police officers, and those are all great things, there is really only one position in the world with the title "owner of Nutty Novelties." It is both exciting and isolating at the same time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. You can't be afraid to pitch your product or service to as many potential clients as necessary.
2. The best businesses solve problems for people.
3. The greatest quality of a leader is humility.
