Create a Profitable Online Business - NRich Digital
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicole Richardson, CEO of NRich Digital, located in Inglewood, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
NRich Digital is all about helping mothers create online businesses to become virtual assistants, coaches, or consultants with the strategies and tools they need to create a successful business in a digital world. My customers are usually in somewhat of a similar situation I was in when I first began my business. I was a single mother wanting to stay home with her kids and create a living doing work that I'm passionate about, but at the time, I didn't have exactly what I needed to start my business. After a lot of research, trial and error, and money spent on courses I didn't need, I finally was able to climb out of confusion and start working with clients. My mission is to help more women earn a living faster and equip them with the tools they need to get started without confusion or technology holding them back.
Tell us about yourself
I was due back to work after being on a 3-month maternity leave and decided that my children needed me home more than the papers I left on my desk before my leave. I didn't have the plan to make being a stay home mom work long-term financially, but I knew in my heart that I needed to quit my job and figure out a way.
I realized that there were skills I was being paid for as an employee and wondered if there were people that would pay me to use those same skills as a contractor. There was plenty I had to learn along the way, but it was the determination to give my children the attention I felt they needed while they were young.
Now that my children are a bit older, I'm still able to stay home and use my experience to create an impact by helping others become stay home moms, entrepreneurs, or even create an additional income for themselves. Helping others live passionate lives with purpose and meaning is what motivates me to keep going.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment was landing my first client. It showed me that if I can help one, then I could also help 10, 100, or 1000+. As long as I kept going, anything was possible.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing as a business owner has been allowing others to take the lead. I had been such a DIYer for so long that when it became time for me to outsource and delegate projects in my business, it was a little hard for me to let go and allow others to show up in their genius zone for me, as I have for many others.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do it scared, and learn along the way.
- Get support in areas that are outside your genius sooner than later because it could be the things that hold you back.
- Don't compare your beginning to someone else's in between. We all have our own journey.
