What's your business, and who are your customers?

New skincare line for anyone who wants to know what products a dermatologist actually recommends and that everyone should be using on a daily basis.

Tell us about yourself

I’m a dermatology resident physician living in NY. I wanted to start this company to provide access to the public with quality products that are deemed essential by myself and the consensus of dermatologists. I plan to only release products that should be a part of everyone’s daily routine that actually works. There are so many products out there that are not only overwhelming but just not even evidence-based. What you’ll find is that most dermatologists can simplify your daily routine in a rather minimalistic that actually works.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say being able to read a book that gave me a general layout and overall plan, but working hard to execute all of the little gaps in between that requires countless hours of finding out answers on your own. Our goal was to have a product ready to be sold in 3 months - we did. Our goal was to sell on Shopify, and we have now launched on Amazon and are realizing it’s just the beginning.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It’s hard to get anyone else to be as passionate about it as you are, and I think that’s just natural. I’m constantly trying to push the company forward, and after my normal job - I come home and put hours just into learning about the business. The learning interests me though, which makes it sustainable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. In the beginning, you’re going to have to do it and do it alone. If there’s a question - you have to find the answer yourself.
  2. Always be thinking ahead. I am constantly asking myself - what’s next?
  3. Be patient but make it happen.
