What's your business, and who are your customers?

After grooming dogs for years and years in salons all over LA, I decided to start  grooming dogs in my garage to make enough to pay the bills while I pursued acting and performing. That was my first passion. My Instagram account @JessRonaGrooming, went viral in 2016, and the business grew so much. In 2020, I opened up my brick an mortar after a year long build out, and now I have a book, a TV show (Haute Dog on HBOMax) and 9 employees that I've trained in the JRG method of grooming.

I own Jess Rona Grooming in Los Angeles, and our customers are big-hearted dog-obsessed dog owners who value high-quality grooming.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Becoming the most well-known and sought-after dog groomer in my industry.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The pressure that comes with owning a business - if things fall apart, it's all on me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Your business grows as you grow as a human, so the biggest tip I have is to work on personal development as part of your daily ritual. The second tip is to have a gratitude practice. The third tip would be to hire coaches to guide you in your process.
