What's your business, and who are your customers?
NORM solves the problem of dry or severe skin conditions due to the environment your skin may be exposed to by providing natural and organic products that work. With our products, a small amount goes a long way as we provide an effective unique blend. Over time, with the continual use of our natural products, a healing process occurs. Based on our market research, our customers are both women and men from all ethnic groups ranging from 18-40 years old.
Tell us about yourself
I currently operate holding companies within a few industries, namely the cosmetics, entertainment, insurance, and consumer retail industries. I have many goals, one of which is to successfully scale my businesses while mentoring and supporting like-minded entrepreneurs along their journeys. A Canadian-born Jamaican, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Toronto, where I was able to lead several student organizations during my time there. These roles helped accelerate my development as a leader, an essential skill to have as a young entrepreneur looking to successfully operate and scale businesses.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting started! It's easy to procrastinate. To date, I have pitched and won over $50K in grants while selling over 2,000 units of products.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having patience. Building a successful business takes years!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Find a problem you are passionate about solving with your skills and expertise. Build the best team you can that believes in your vision of solving this problem, then start solving the problem step by step without worrying about how long it will take.
