What's your business, and who are your customers?

We make the best toxic-free, plastic-free shampoo bars and conditioners for every hair type. Our customers are anyone who wants to rock the best hair of their life.

Tell us about yourself

First and foremost, I'm a proud Guatemalteca and, secondly, a serial social entrepreneur, which means that I seek to create businesses that leave behind a positive impact. My newest venture, Nolé, came about when I discovered an ingredient that fixed my weak postpartum hair. This encounter led me to create a line of totally toxic, cruelty, and plastic-free shampoo bars and conditioners as vehicles to share this ingredient with the world. I also represented my country as Miss Guatemala and worked as a model worldwide in a previous life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

When customers tell me that they love their products, Nolé's impact on people's lives has been humbling. We receive fan letters, videos, and positive testimonials daily. Nothing is more rewarding for a business owner than a happy user.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Self-doubt is always a big one. And the pre-launch jitters. But at the end of the day, you get over those things if you love what you're doing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be true to yourself and your values. If you don't like what you're selling, you're not going to sell any of it.
  2. To build a team you can trust, remember that work ethic is sometimes more valuable than experience.
  3. Be mindful. The world has more than enough businesses with wasteful and damaging practices.
