What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a massage school offering a full massage education to licensure and continuing education courses.
Tell us about yourself
I have been a massage therapist for ten years, offering Trigger Point Therapy. What first got me started in teaching was seeing that a lot of therapists around me didn't know what Trigger Point was or how it worked. I started with continuing education and, from there, saw the need to open a full massage school, educating students from the beginning to become quality therapists helping those with chronic pain. I am motivated by serving my community and those in pain. Seeing this make a difference feels really amazing and helps our community.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Opening this school. It took a long time and a lot of commitment on my end, writing manuals and jumping through hoops to get the licenses I needed! Just never giving up and believing in the vision is a huge victory for me.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being the person everyone comes to and needs to figure it all out, even the stuff I don't have an answer to.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I would say everything is figureoutable; figure out what drives you and keep coming back to that and believe in your vision! It was given to you for a purpose- you can carry that out!
