What's your business, and who are your customers?

Let’s Blossom Speech Therapy, Inc is a pediatric private practice that serves speech-language services to children. We provide our clients with therapy and support that is tailored to the child’s specific needs, whether it’s oral motor exercises, speech sound production, receptive/expressive language, and/or social skills.

We also work closely with each child’s family/support network to promote generalization across all settings.

Tell us about yourself

I am driven to give my clients the love, imagination, and skills to create the speech, language, and voice I never had as a child. Let’s Blossom Speech’s mission and identity encourages connection because it not only fuels the investment into the client’s therapeutic progress but also is instrumental to a holistic approach to working with family services.

Our children need a village, so our community of parents and practitioners are what motivates me to bring a holistic-client-focused service to kids who need it the most.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Personally, I am proud of my work/life balance, as well as the quality of service Let’s Blossom Speech serves our clients. I truly believe that you can’t show up for others unless you show up for yourself. Being your whole self involves your love, creativity, imagination, and care, which is what the work needs to be achieved effectively.

Our clients see Let’s Blossom as a place where they can take the lead and take ownership of their learning and growth. This sense of empowerment is only achieved with well-balanced and mindful practitioners. It fills me with joy to cultivate a space where therapists and clients alike can grow into their best selves.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When you start a business from the ground up, it requires so much patience, faith, trust, discipline, resilience, imagination, and innovation that sometimes you can get outside of yourself: outside of your purpose and what inspired you to embark on your entrepreneurial journey in the first place. You get motivated by where you are going and forget to lean into where you are.

It’s been such an amazing challenge to force myself to stay present, perceptive, and diligent about the details in front of me instead of the big picture ahead of me. Reminding myself to go slow to go fast has been instrumental to my business’s success thus far.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I approach everything I do with an abundance mindset. As a business person, you have to be optimistic, and the only way to sustain that positive state of mind is by being grateful. I encourage you to celebrate all the wins, no matter how small, because every achievement is a step closer to your ultimate goal.

Also, the focus is such an underrated aspect of the journey. When you are at the beginning of your business journey, distractions come from everywhere, and it will be up to you to keep the integrity and quality of your vision alive. Remember, the survival of your business hinges on the kind of focus that makes your dreams more real than your reality.

Lastly, I would say open-mindedness. While the finish line may be clear, the bumps and detours along the way may not be. I’m a burgeoning business owner, but I have already encountered a number of trials that have forced me to expand my understanding and capacity for my work. Being open to growth and mistakes has helped keep me on track.
