What's your business, and who are your customers?

NBR Strategic Solutions offers coaching, speaking, and consulting services to support purpose-driven entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and corporations in achieving their business goals using effective marketing, communications, and branding strategies. NBR also hosts events to empower individuals and entrepreneurs to achieve their personal, professional and/or business development goals.

Tell us about yourself

I started this business to inspire, motivate and empower individuals to achieve their entrepreneurial goals and dreams. I started this business during a recession when suicide rates were really high in Canada. I wanted to provide a source of inspiration and hope to others who needed it most. The NBR brand is all about confidence! NBR provides tools and resources to support those who are interested in taking their lives, careers and/or businesses to the next level by mapping out their roadmap to success (strategy) and by taking consistent action to achieve the desired outcomes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment thus far is helping hundreds of people globally regain their confidence, discover their God-given Purpose, and take action toward achieving their personal, professional, and/or business goals. More specifically, being named one of Alberta's Top 15 Coaches by Influence Digest was a great accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Time! The hardest thing is creating balance when you have so many expectations from yourself, clients, family, and friends. Sometimes you feel like you have to be Super Woman all the time, but I'm realizing now more than ever that it's okay to say no more often. Every day is a gift. Let's focus on the activities that bring us closer to our goals and dreams while ensuring we create even more time for ourselves and our loved ones.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start with your Vision and understand its Purpose.
  2. Know your audience - do the research - what problem are you solving.
  3. Create your USP (Unique Selling Proposition).
